The “SAGAL” Association aims to promote mutual understanding and integration between the Somali and Italian communities, actively working to enhance the cultural and linguistic heritage of their origins. Through cultural, social and educational activities, we are committed to supporting members of the Somali community in Italy and facilitating their integration into the host society. The “SAGAL” Association, which is a non-profit organization, aims to:
– To disseminate and preserve the cultural and linguistic heritage of their origins in the Somali community living in Trieste.
– Promote, in collaboration with other institutions operating in the regional and national territory, knowledge of the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Somali ethnic group through meetings, conferences, parties, shows and other initiatives.
– Promote knowledge of the host community, deepening its history and its cultural and linguistic heritage, to promote optimal integration in full awareness of rights and duties.
– Stimulate mutual sensitivity regarding civil and religious celebrations and the specific cultural characteristics of both the host community and the Somali community.
